As a Christian wife and mother I have a responsibility to lay a solid foundation of faith in my home by following after God in accordance with His Word. One of the ways that I can lay that foundation is to show my children that there is never any doubt where we place our priorities whether as individuals or as a family. My children need to know that serving God isn’t only for Sunday morning. They need to know that serving God isn’t only about when it is convenient for us. We need to serve God every day because He is worthy of our service, and ultimately we will be judged by whether or not we served Him during our lives (2 Corinthians 5:10). This Joshua 24 printable poster can serve as a beautiful reminder in our homes as to WHO we ought to be choosing to serve and follow each day.
I’m thankful that God chose to preserve Joshua’s exhortation to God’s people as an example for us in Joshua 24:14-15. Joshua not only chose for himself to serve God, but to also lead his family in serving God as well.
14 “Now therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the Lord! 15 And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
